Is sex really all that good ?

Is sex really all that good? everyone talks about sex and how sex is amazing. but is our expectations of sex too high that it has become over-rated. Is this due to the false image we are giving of sex of porn and and the media. Do we expect our first time to be like the movies ? in my opinion sex is over rated to an extent. Personally I don't think that sex lives up to what its like in the movies looking at them and then doing it. I don't feel all that romantic when you have to position the penis into the vagina, nothing romantic about that. From personal experiences. the very first time I had sex I didn't think it was all that great. I just remember thinking to myself after ' I hope it gets alot better than this'.  I know of course if the connection is there between you and your lover and sex can be amazing but do we but a huge emphasises on sex that when we have finally have sex do we disappoint ourselves?

    The question seems simple, but the answer is of course both complex and subjective. The short answer, which of course is based purely on my own experience is "yes, it is". The longer answer is that, again in my view, your experience of sex is largely a product of 1) how you feel about sex, which has to do with your upbringing, personal experiences, etc., and 2) how you feel about the person you're having sex with, which is a product of obvious things like physical attraction, but also of the basic relationship elements such as trust and communication. In sum, then, if you feel that sex is shameful, or you've had bad experiences with sex, or you don't have a trusting relationship with your partner, and can't or don't talk frankly and openly with them about sex, then no, the sex is not likely to be good.
